9. Kinder

This policy applies to the game Drill Baron for iPhone.
In short
- No account with us. At start the game only fetches a version file from treesolid.de, and asks the App Store if your version is out of date.
- Your progress is stored on your iPhone and, if you are signed in to iCloud, as a copy in your iCloud account.
- If you are signed in to Game Center, the game reports achievements and best scores to Apple.
- Purchases go through Apple. We never see payment details.
- Optional reward videos come from Google AdMob. Personalised ads only with your consent.
- No analytics or crash reporting of our own.

2. Progress on your device and in iCloud
The game stores your progress, your settings (sound, music, vibration, language) and which tips you have seen on your iPhone.
If you are signed in to iCloud on the iPhone, the game also keeps a copy of your progress (without the settings) in the iCloud key-value storage of your Apple Account, so you can continue on another device with the same Apple Account or after reinstalling. Apple stores this copy in your iCloud account; we have no access to it. Without iCloud the progress stays on the iPhone only, and deleting the app deletes it.
3. Game Center
If you are signed in to Apple's Game Center on the iPhone, the game reports your achievements and best scores (deepest point, total in-game money earned, rank points) to Game Center. They appear in your Game Center profile and on leaderboards that other players can see with your Game Center name. You choose who sees your profile in iOS Settings under Game Center. Without signing in, the game sends nothing to Game Center. Apple's privacy policy applies.
4. In-app purchases
You buy gem packs and offers through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland). Apple only tells us which product was bought so the game can credit it. We receive no name, Apple Account or payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies as well.
5. Reward videos (Google AdMob)
In some places you can choose to watch a video for an in-game reward. The videos are served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The game loads no ads unless you start a video.
On first launch the game shows Google's consent form asking whether Google may use data for personalised ads. iOS then asks whether apps may track you through the advertising identifier (IDFA). If you agree, Google may use the advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information and ad interactions for personalised ads, measurement and fraud prevention. If you decline, AdMob shows only non-personalised ads; Google still processes technical data such as the IP address and device information to deliver and count ads and to prevent abuse. Ads are limited to content suitable for all ages.
You can change your choice at any time under “Privacy settings” in the game menu and in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. More: How Google uses data for advertising.
6. Version check at start
At start and after a longer break the game loads a small file from our website (https://treesolid.de/apps/drillbaron/config.json). It states the oldest version of the game that is still supported; if yours is older, the game asks you to update in the App Store. For this our web server necessarily receives your IP address. The game sends nothing else: no account, no identifier, no progress.
If your version is older than the one in the file, the game asks Apple's App Store (https://itunes.apple.com/lookup) which version it offers in your country. This way it only asks you to update once the update is actually in the store. For this it sends the country code of your device settings (e.g. "US") to Apple; Apple necessarily receives your IP address. Apple's privacy policy applies (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
7. No other services
The game contains no analytics, tracking or crash reporting of our own and no push notifications. Apart from Apple (purchases, iCloud, Game Center, App Store lookup), Google (videos) and our website (version check) it makes no connections.
8. Legal bases
Progress on the device and in iCloud, the Game Center reports and purchases are processed to perform our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Personalised ads and access to the advertising identifier are based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Non-personalised ads are based on our legitimate interest in offering and funding the game for free, the version check on our legitimate interest in running only versions we still support (both Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
9. Children
Drill Baron is for everyone aged 9 and up. Purchases need a press-and-hold; parents can also block purchases with iOS Screen Time. We collect no data about children ourselves.
10. Your rights
Within the legal requirements you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection and to withdraw consent for the future. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. As we store no data about you ourselves, please contact Apple or Google directly about data they hold; we are happy to help at info@treesolid.de.
